Albums

The discography of the American rock band Toto includes 13 studio albums, four live albums, as well as numerous compilations. Toto has released original music as well as collaborated with other artists on soundtracks and films. The group has won a number of Grammy Awards for their work.
Before Toto was formed the members of the group performed session work for other musicians. Drummer Jeff Porcaro, bassist David Hungate, and keyboardist David Paich (the son of session percussionist Marty Paich and brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro) played on Boz Scaggs 1975 album Silk Degrees. Toto was formed in 1976 in the wake of the collaboration.
The third album of Toto, Turn Back, marked a departure from the more progressive sound of their earlier albums, and was criticised for the absence of hit singles. In 1985 the group's singer Fergie Frederiksen resigned from the group, and the band held auditions for the new frontman. Guitarist Steve Lukather was chosen, and the group recorded their album Fahrenheit in 1986.
Toto released Toto XX in 1998 to commemorate its 20th anniversary. The band went through old tapes and recordings to create the unique record. The album was well received by fans, and the band embarked on a tour that featured former members Bobby Kimball, Steve Porcaro, and Joseph Williams.
While touring for the album 40 Trips Around the Sun, drummer Leland Sklar quit the group and was replaced by Shem von Schroeck. In the year 2017, Toto released the double-CD set Falling in Between. It included live recordings from the tour and also an interview with the group.
